This is our house in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland and it forms the focus of these web pages. Use the menu along the top to navigate this site.

Our house is a semi-detached Victorian house on three levels with views South over the River Forth towards Edinburgh. The house was completed in 1880 and is constructed using local sandstone with a slate roof. It was in very original condition when we bought it in November 2000, the structure was sound and required no urgent remedial work other than a repair to a broken lintel and treatment for a minor infestation of woodworm. A new chemical damp proof course was also installed which I think was unnecessary but the building society insisted. The house has obviously been kept wind and watertight over the years but was in need of upgrading. The virtual tour has about 200 images so far and will be used to document the progress of the house renovation and restoration. This is a living site and it will be updated periodically so please come back occassionally and see how we are getting on.
